Dissertation Description

The concept of this thesis is the management of a smart house via an android device. Electronic boards are placed in specific devices inside a house and switch on/off or Time-Schedule via SMS Messages. The receiving and editing of the messages is controlled by the Arduino. Also, the time-schedule is set via real time clock (RTC), which keeps the current date and time in its memory. The phone application provides two operations. The first operation is switching a device on/off and the second is setting the date and time, and the duration in minutes for the device to run. In the end, all this information is stored in a database.
